Check it out. It's a upcoming Star Wars MMO done by Bioware set in the Old Republic times, about 300 years after Revan from the KotOR games. Looks like it may be a winner.

I said it could be interesting, but then I bopped around the internet some more.

I've seen Star Wars / WWII hybrid action figures. Darth Vader doing his grocery shopping videos. Stormtrooper figures interacting with squirrels. I use StumbleUpon constantly, and it seems every 4th click is a damn Star Wars reference.

Don't get me wrong. The (original) movies are awesome. It's just grown to the point of a religion, and it's everywhere. And yes, I know, there really is a religion based on it.

Yes, I am looking forward to the SW MMO. I was a big fan of KOTOR. I am hoping it does not suck. It has been pushed back to 2011 though. =( Like Demetria I am a big fan of the original movies. The latest ones on the other hand are steaming piles of crap.

Only starwars type thing I've seen coming down the tube that interests me currently is "the force unleashed 2". First one was fun enough gameplay with a solid enough story to be entertaining.

I found the game fun but the story cheesy. Vaders secret apprentice was the one who started the Alliance? Really? The pulling down the star destroyer with the force? Oh and being able to be good when all he's known is the Dark Side? Bull. The Dark Side corrupts and twists you. It colors how you see things.

Yes, it twists and corrupts, but if it did so absolutely then Vader never would have been able to turn against the dark side or the emperor and in later stories Lea would never have been able to get Luke to turn from the dark side.

That being said they did amp up the powers of the force in the game but I'm fine with that. I want to be able to blow's stuff up with the quickness in my video games.

And if you play through both storylines you aren't the one who starts the alliance so much as the one who enables it. May just seem like fancy word play but regardless of which path you choose the alliance still forms and the storyline still plays through, it's just if you choose the dark side you take Vaders place. If you want to throw cannon out there for why a star wars game sucks then it kind of applies to each one as each video game takes advantage of certain lulls in the story and take creative liberty with characters and events.

The Alliance does NOT form if you go dark side. It DIES right there. All the major people in it were killed. It's dead dude if you go dark.

And the dark side can be turned away from but it's hard. And its bullcrap to be good WHILE STILL USING IT! Thats like saying "LOOK I"M CLEAN!" with a needle still in your arm. It's bullcrap. It was also cheesy as hell that basically all it took for him to turn to good was a pretty face. Totally dumb. They pissed all over cannon with how the Dark Side really is.
