Picture Gallery

I have activated the picture gallery module. This will give us a way to create albums, both personal and group to share pictures. A few kinks to be worked out yet:

1. Menu button. Apparently, the designer of this skin didn't write the HTML code to describe the "Gallery" button up there on the top row. All that displays is a little white-ish box between "Home" and "FAQ". I'll have to see if I can write the code for it and stuff...

2. Haven't figured out all the album options yet


I've created a personal album for Richard Delacourt, and I've posted a pile of icons for anyone to use, see if you can get in there. If you can and you want to use one, right click on it and select "Save as" give it a name (or use the default) and put it somewhere on yer machine.

Since this is a free service the space we have is limited, 20MB total. Be careful on the sizes and resolutions. any real large pictures put them in a post and host them on a service somewhere else.

How do we see the gallery?

Click the Gallery button, the little white box between the "Home" and "FAQ" buttons. When the gallery comes up click on user galleries on the lower left, you'll see an icon for Richard Delacourt's gallery, click that.

Ok, had to do some digging, but got the Gallery button done. It is now visible.

Very nice. I tried to upload a couple pictures just to play with it. Thought i'd do an album for the many faces of Patrick Connely..but Im not sure of the results.

I'll have to play with it again sometime.

You have some really disturbing pics in your gallery Delray. Is that just stuff Indy would have ICly? I"m kinda grossed out by it. Tupac dead, Nicole Simpson dead, the Columbine guys. I dunno about those pics.

People don't know that. I certainly didn't. Perhaps some warnings would be nice. I mean a kid could wander in here you know and see real dead people all blown away and bloody. That wouldn't be good. I think there should at LEAST be a warning on Indy's Gallery.

I've changed the permissions for the personal galleries to only include someone that is playing with us and has been loaded into a clan group. No guest or non player can see them. I do this only because Scott has a point. Besides, there is a complaint system for these free boards and we don't want to have to go there.

Anyways, I can't post a warning on his gallery, no way to. So, I do what I can do.

part of why Theseus doesn't spend much time around Indy in general, not to mention "Theseus" hasn't been browsing the photo galleries. I've only gone as far as a quick glance myself

The game is small enough now that it doesn't matter one way or another, but if it ever grows, explicit image warnings for galleries might become necessary. It's one thing to talk about or describe the horrific things our characters see and do, but another entirely to be exposed to the visceral reality of the images of it. Not everyone will be cool with having that sprung on them unexpectedly.
